header install how hard is it? how long would it take someone doing it for the first time? what tools would i need? and would running just headers no ory pipe for a week or so hurt anything? thanks
Re: header install what kinda headers. my jet hots and Y took 3 days only cuz i had to wait for a grinder to grind down the block tab on the driver side part of the block cuz i couldnt get the steering linkage off.
KEY is to get your car as high as safely possible. some basic hand tools will suffice.
i ran my LT's and Y with no catback for a week, no problems but it was loud as **** and ran a little rich.

Re: header install took me 3 hours...well...3 1/2 total with the exhaust....but I've done it on other cars
and If you have a buddy...which I did....you can just loosen the steering linkage middle bolt...and flex he engine with a little grunt...an use a little push on the headers and thay wil pop right past that stupid casting flange....

Re: header install It took a shop, all afternoon Saturday, all day Sunday, (did no work on Monday), and all morning Tuesday to get my headers in (they had one mechanic work on it, while others would chip in occasionally. Of course, I do not have the LS1. They had to take out everything except the motor (personally, it think it would have been easier for them to take just the motor out). The good thing was the manager only charged me 10 hours of labor.
