Default Header Bolt ,,,,Leaks question

This is for you guys with headers. Do you have any problems with the header bolts backing out and leaks?. I am considering the Coated pacesetters but I do not want to be tightening bolts and or replacing gaskets that leak every few hundred or thousand miles. What is your experience with them. I have been bolting on headers since the 70's and they can be a pain in the **** as far as leaks.....and yes you used to could buy some blackjacks for $49.00-$69.00 or some 1 7/8 Hookers for $159.00 for your 67-69 Smallblock Camaro and they were alot easier to change than an 02 SS Camaro. I know they make quality header bolts Stage8 etc etc but what have you discovered with these LS1 Camaros??

Thanks

Most people just re-use the stock bolts and get stock gaskets from GM because they are MLS gaskets. I haven't had any problems with mine backing out yet. Just recheck them after a few heat cycles. I don't think very many paople have luck with the stage 8 bolts on our cars.

I have two LS1 camaros with pacesetter headers. I used the original gaskets. No leaks, no loosening.
I used the pacesetter bolts.

FWIW The set I bought for my Z28 had longer bolts that would bottom out before pulling the flange tight, I pulled one out of my SS and there was a 3/16" difference.

I have stainless dynatechs. I've had them on since '04.
No leaks. And yes, I have a broken header bolt in the head and
still no issues. LOL

Reuse the stock gm bolts and/or (new) gm gaskets and you'll be fine. I would get stainless if you can afford it/save up for them.
