What is the vacuum box (cylinder) at the front??

Default What is the vacuum box (cylinder) at the front??

On a 01 TA on the passanger side front frame rail there is a black cylinder box thing that has a vacuum line going to it from the hvac??

What is it and can i remove it??

That's the vacume resevior. I moved mine into the fender, I beleive it helps switch the vents faster when your at low vac. I left mine because it doesn't really weigh even a pound and I moved it so it's not in the way.

yup, youre exactly right. it does help the vents switch faster. removed all that crap when i deleted A/C/heat

I still have heat, no air, so....... can i remove it without any troubles?? The speed the vents move is no matter to me.
I will only need heat on the really cold days at the track to defrost the window.
Other than that i will have on the face vents for cooling.

yes u can remove it. will not cause any probs. vents just dont respond as fast
