Default Will this combo work? SLP headers...

Will the new slp lt's work with slp's y pipe that came with the original style headers? I have had the original slp lt's for years but now need headers w/ better clearance now that I'm lowered. Hoping I can just buy slp's new version and use them with my original slp y pipe.

Depending on what the new version is like....I am assuming better clearance. I would think that it may not work as well as you are hoping. It might actually bring the y-pipe up too close to the floorboards and you will get a sweet banging noise from it. I always suggest a custom y-pipe to fit any set of headers. You may have to flatten that original y-pipe out a bit in a few problematic areas if you want to keep it.

Hmm...thanks. I don't mind modifying it. I was just hoping someone may have had some first hand experience with this and could provide some insight. Thanks!

I have the original design myself. I have not seen the new ones installed either. But if you look at the pics the new ypipe is modified (smashed/bent) to get the clearance from being closer to the floorboard. I haven't checked, but I don't think they sell the headers by themselves.

Do you see what I am talking about?

I'm sure you could modify your old ypipe though, just not sure you can get just the headers.

Good luck.

I'm sure I could modify my y-pipe if need be. Hope I can get the headers by themselves now.
