Port matching questions
I know port and polishing TB is a widely coevered subject here, but I have a few questions that seem unclear in any write ups. I have port and polished my TB without paying any attention to the MM (wondering if that matters because I notice after market companies advertise the MM of the TB). Also have trouble with around the blade, looks like it doesn't perfectly close up even before porting. Also when I port my upper and lower intake manifold, any idea how far I should go down into the ports? I know I do need to kind of taper it down into the ports. Thinking of leaving the bottom of the lower intake manifold (going to the cylinder head) alone. Also I should leave a scuff finish in the intake manifold for better combustion? Should I match the back of the TB to the upper intake manifold (where the TB goes on)? Lastly how do I polish the outside of the TB? When using polishing tools with my dremel like the felt polishing wheels, I get black looking swirl marks that will not come off. I thought this was burn marks but went to the lowest speed and still got these. Working on a cam swap so this is just a side project.
