Coils packs are good it deff seems like a wiring issue and is inconsistent. tore appart the entire harness and the wires going from the coils to the pcm look good. so I'm a little lost
I think I found the issue. I changed the spark plugs on those cylinders even though they looked fresh just to be sure, and then I moved the coilpacks to different cylinders and the problem didnt follow. I think its just a loose wire somewhere. I opened up the whole harness and no broken/ bare wires.
The wires by the 10 pin connector that feeds the coilpacks are loose and I cant get them to stay consistently connected. I jiggle that part of the harness and I am running on anything between 6 and 8 cylinders. I was wondering if someone could post a pinout for that connector, or post where I can find on so I can figure out which wires feed 12v to cylinder 2 and 4.
I am thinking about clipping them then and jumping that connector with an aftermarket one.. one that hopefully doesnt suck. I understand it could also be a bad ground but I doubt each coil pack has an individual ground. I would think if I lost a ground I would lose spark to the whole side of the engine all together but I'm not sure.
The car runs great on 8cyl.. but with the engine shaking and vibrating its only a matter of time before it unsettles those wires and the car is bucking under acceleration and backfiring.
Seems like this would be a pretty simple common problem.. Hell I dont even ask about why my TPS reads 3% at idle, because I cant even imagine what would cause that but this I figured would be cake.
Still never figured out the 3% tps reading and no one really has a suggestion other than the obvious stuff which I've already tried.
