Default enough exhaust?

i have a 99 trans am m6 with a lid fra and headers. i am wanting to run dual straight pipes back right before the rear axle and was wondern if this would create enough backpressure for my car? also will this make it quite a bit quieter then what my headers with turndowns is now? thanks

back pressure is a myth for the most part.

true duals will work great and quiet the car down considerably.

^ not really a myth. theres a reason why exotics use variable exhausts. our engines are big though so it isnt as affected as much. if you have a 2.5 v6 and run with open headers you will have a huge noticeable low end decrease....
