Default Header install question

OK so I decided to go with ARH. Will be ordering the 1'3/4" headers and ORY tomorrow.

So my question is:

I am going to be installing them with a buddy and am curious will it hurt to drive it the hour or so to get the tune.

Sorry if this is a repeat of another thread I am not sure.

From my own personal experience I say not at all. I drove my car probly 30 miles with open headers(beleive me it was very uh, spirited driving). I have heard of people having some problems with it though, and I'm sure they will chime in. If you can clamp the ORY on then you are fine.

I dont think he was asking bout running open headers, but rather running headers/ory on the stock tune. You do not have to tune at all if you do not want to. I've put a few hundered miles on my car after the headers/ory w/o getting a tune, and I do not plan to get a tune for hundereds if not thousands miles more. Though a tune will help gain optimal HP and MPG... i dont think it will be harmful at all if u drove on the stock tune for an hour.

You'll be fine, I did LT's, ORY, CB, ls6 intake and a 224 cam all at once the car ran pretty good and the plugs looked fine, so I took the car from park city ut to speed inc in chicago and had it tuned on my trip to my home town of pittsburgh.

Yes I will have a catback on. Headers, ORY, stock catback w/ a cutout. I will not be running open headers buuut almost. Ya thats where I plan on gettin my tune Speed Inc. But its not that close to me.

What about the O2 sensors will they be ok?

I was just taking the car back to pittsburgh from my place in park city so I decided to make a detour through chicago to have them tune it. I was happy with there tune but if you have a good tuner closer I would save the trip. Your O2's will be fine.

As long as you plug in the front ones on both sides. You don't need the rear ones in at all honestly. The rear ones will throw a code but it will not hurt anything.
