Default My eBay headers review...

Just installed them today, the stainless steel ones with the Y-pipe, they had a deal with BIN where i actually got free air bellows .

Keep in mind I have put headers on a LS1 LT1 and 3.8 before.

They are behind a mild cam setup, and infront of a Borlamouth CB.

But overall they looked like great quality. Better than my LS1 Pacesetters The Passenger side went it really easy, but the driver side did need to trim the tab on the block, no big deal 2 mins with a sawzall. Nice thick flanges, and no leaks on the drive home. Defiantly felt a SOTP but its mostly because now the cam can breathe.

The one complaint I have is they had a VERY dumb design for the O2 sensors, they put the bungs on the outside of the header so the passenger side barely fits, and the drivers side i had to trim a shield, and i will have to relocate the bung because it does hit and its right by a fuel line.

Overall i am satisfied with them but maybe i got lucky?

My ebay heads fit like **** and took forever to install. I had to dent my firewall, cut a huge notch out of the drivers side and passenger side k-member. Also had to grind the starter and notch my block. I also had to cut off the drivers side collector and reweld it because it was pointing up into the floor boards. Oh ya did I mention the passenger side o2 sensor bung points the o2 downard and makes the o2 sensor the lowest point on the car? I have scrapped the new o2 sensor but I have yet to break it, I am going to weld a new bung on in the future. After all that work they look good and are high quality but I got the worst fitting set on ebay! The sellar did refund me $30 because the ad said no mods required, fits great!

How the hell are you guys justifying calling these headers high quality and well made when you are having to cut and grind stuff just to get them to fit?

I have the same headers and I had no problem fitting them in. They fit great no modification to get them in. Didn't have to cut/grind/hammer anything. Haven't hooked up the 02s yet so don't know about that

Just since '02, and didn't get my Kooks headers until '04, so I haven't been in the game as long as some.

Yeah those days have come and gone though. Header designs have evolved and basically none require modifying anything to fit properly anymore. If they need to modified to fit, eBay can keep them.

Yet you had to cut a tab off of the block and the O2 sensors are in the wrong spot?

oh I agree with that those days have come and gone, but only because people know what stuff not to buy. Some people still have problems with some companies y-pipes hitting the floor pans. Speaking of modifying to fit though, don't even swing by the forced induction forum; Almost all the kits require modification to work: relocation of the alt, getting rid of a/c, notching the k-member, need an aftermarket k-member, etc.
