Oil pressure sending unit?

Im in the middle of my LS6 intake install and broke this

.... is this the infamous OSU? and isnt there supposed to be a nut looking piece on one end? this was my first intake install...so still learning, thanks for your help!

yeah, it should thread in to the block directly behind the intake. you can get one for about $40 at autozone. they also have a special socket.

im not 100% sure. i just did a quick search after you asked the question and thats what i came up with. but wherever you get the oil pressure sending unit from, just ask them if they have the socket that fits it.

ok thanks man, anyone out there know what tool i need? and how do i prevent hitting the new one when i put the LS6 in there??

what broke it was when you removed the intake the brake booster on the back of it snapped the opsu. did you read a how to like on ls1howto.com

if you follow this you wont break the opsu. its a lot easier with 2 people.

I found the socket you need at NAPA i just walked in there and told them that it was for an oil sending unit. Apparently it is very common to break these while doing the swap.
