Default True Duals??

I just bought a 98 Camaro SS. I am going to put true duals on it with long tube headers. I want to know if i can take it to a muffler shop and have them make the duals from the header back or does somebody sell a true dual package.

I bought the Bassani true duals from lmperformance.com They match up to the manifolds but it wouldn't cost mcuh more to run length to headers. It's a nice setup. All stainless and fits perfect. The $950 price tag might look high but it's a quality job and an exhaust shop wont do mandrel bends. Comes with muffler, polished tips, x pipe, a ton of band clamps, and all the hardware.

your signature says dumped so i'm assuming it's not over the axle. material cost and fitment has alot to do with it. anyway, i'm happy with my exhaust.

TSP sells a true-dual setup but it is dumped at the axle. Bassani sells a dual kit that goes out the back as mentioned but it is expensive and only 2.5". I had a custom true-dual setup made in 3" for my car and run out the back to my factory CME tips. I have over $1000 in it but it looks and sounds amazing.

mine is a true dual set-up that was done at the muffler shop and they are all the way out the back under the axle paid less than $300 for it!!!! to answer your question your question yes a muffler shop can do it, ask around and find someone who's good instead of payin $1000

Well there's no arguing because I want a kink free exhaust that acheives maximun power and perfect fitment that will last a long time. A kinked exhaust will not be much better than the stock system. If you plan to make alot of power than you will have to replace that exhaust to a better design that's a perfect size throughout. my 2 cents.

Why wouldn't they? If you go to a good shop they should be capable of creating mandrel bends.

Get a Dr. Gas or Pypes X-pipe, some bullet mufflers, and have a shop fab up the rest for you. I currently have TSP true duals, but have been thinking about having a custom setup made using a Pypes X-pipe and the Sweet Thunder mufflers from my current exhaust.

My problem was nobody near me would do the job that I wanted and the one shop that would wanted the same price as the Bassani kit but there's didn't include any clamps, tips, or muffler and it was 2 hours away.

I'm in the same boat as you not to hijack the thread but do you have any sound clips?

I haven't tried lately but I ask a couple of places and they wouldn't do it because it supposedly violates federal law to modify stock exhaust so I said screw it and still run headers through my B&B catback.

Huh? Unless they were talking about the headers and removing cats, sounds like they just didn't want to do it, or wouldn't know how. Pretty sure most emission laws we fight are state level mandated to meet or exceed federal law and those deal with the manifolds and cats seems like most don't care after that?

I am running a true dual over the axle, x pipe, high flow cats, Stanley Performance bullets but not on headers. It cost with the cats $700 if I remember right. I finally have a system that doesn't hit on everything with a lowered car, finding a good exhaust guy is the key....

You can check out how Stanley did it here... http://s103.photobucket.com/albums/m...%20SS/Exhaust/

I would like to know how the sound changed between the Bassani and Moroso also.

If this is the kit you bought, its $788 now, not $950....http://www.lmperformance.com/5796/.html
