Hey, I was wondering, if i have the slp y pipe and wanted to run the true dual set-up, can i cut the pipe at the Y connection and weld in a x collector? that should work right? i can't see why it wouldn't if you have to weld other pipes into the x collector just as i would be doing with the true dual kit. At least this way i wont have to worry about mandrel bends and sizing.

I would think it would all depend on where you cut it, a true x pipe will probably be less restrictive, the Y pipe was designed to flow into 1 outlet where as a good X pipe will merge the sides of two pipes together, keeping out a flow restriction.

well the way the slp y pipe is designed, the two pipes from the headers run parellel until it goes into the y collector. I was thinking about cutting right before the y where there are still two independent tubes, weld the x where they meet up with those tubes, and then dump from there.
