voltage regulator?alternator? or what please help

Default voltage regulator?alternator? or what please help

So i got a 01 WS6 and the voltage guage moves between 13-18 volts my lights flash and what not , i put a volt meter on the battery and it wont even give me a good reading because the voltage jumps around to much so im trying to figure out what the problem is anyone got any ideas

sounds like the voltage regulator is screwed. pull the alternator and take it to autozone. they have a bench they can test it on.

Sounds like a bad ground or several.

If the voltage is jumping to over 15 volts, I would say alternator/regulator.
