QTECs straight off the headers?

QTECs straight off the headers? Is it possible/ smart to install the QTECs right off the collectors? Or is it too hot there for the motor to handle? Just wondering as it seems this would be the best place to put them.

Re: QTECs straight off the headers? Sure you can do it! Check QTECs website, they have a y-pipe with dual Qtecs on it. I don't see any problems with that, the O2 sensors might have a problem if you still have the rear O2s w/o any tuning mods.
Re: QTECs straight off the headers? Don't do this. If you are going to run dual cutouts they must be further downstream then right at the collectors. Look at QTP's ypipe - they are towards the back of the ypipe. Also, ask anyone running open headers (I did it just this past weekend at the track), you want to run extensions off the headers.

Re: QTECs straight off the headers? good call because one of my buddy's burnt some valves up running cutouts right after his headers. Im gonna put my cutouts after the cats thats half gutted and i ran better then my friend with cutouts before the cats. We dont have internals dont yet either. That would be a different story but u deffinatley wanna put them atleast 10-12 inches maybe even more after the headers if they go first.

Re: QTECs straight off the headers? Ditto you will also pick up a bit of power when sent 18-24inches after the collector. I have a guy with stk eliminator LS1 cut the collectors off about 22in off collector and piched up 10hp and 8lb ft over off the collectors.
