Underdrive Pully Recently completed an underdrive pully install on a 2000 Corvette Coupe which is out of warranty and so is being modified to the max. Have put about 500 miles on it since then and am now getting oil leaking from behind it. The project went very well and I can't say that there were any issues with the install. I am assuming that this is the front main bearing seal that is leaking. If this is correct, is this serviceable without pulling the engine? If not, is this leakage really a problem other than for my garage floor? I'm losing an ounce or two everytime I take it out and can live with it if I have to. I have also heard that the crankshaft may sometimes move out of allignment when performing this modification and needs to be tapped to reallign it. I'm wondering if this might solve the problem but don't want to do anything till I'm certain of what I'm dealing with. Not really interested in having a dealer "help me" as they have not shown any interest in even looking at it. Called and explained what I had and asked for an estimate and they never returned my call. Same dealer I bought the car from. Go figure!

Re: Underdrive Pully More than likely it the seal on the from cover. You can pull the pulley off and replace it. Or just monitor it. Probably half the LS1's I've been under have the same problem.
