Default maf question

i have been told that a 01-02 stock maf will not work on a 98-00 camrao. is this true are they different? if so what would happen if u put an 01 maf on a 98 car? would this cause a problem

The 98 to 02 Camaro's and Firebirds have the same MAF. I've used an older MAF on a newer car without issue.

thanks that is what i thought. this guy paul in charleston told me that i was an idiot for using a late model maf on my car. it turns out he is the idiot.
