Default Home ported TB

So I'm going to have my friend port my TB and am getting a MAF with the center bar taken out, then have him port that too. Now I'm assuming this will throw my A/F tables off completely, but it shouldn't cause it to run bad after doing it would it? I will get it tuned after that anyways. Or should I just get a C5 ZO6 MAF and have the tables for it downloaded onto the computer and not worry about porting the stock MAF? The guy that runs our local dyno was telling me to not even bother with the TB or MAF because it wouldn't do anything other than cause tuning problems that I'll have to straighten out. Won't give you more power necessarily. Opinions?

Do not port the MAF. Porting the throttle body is definately worth some power.

porting the throttle body the right way will not cuase any problems. ******* with the MAF could cause problems and is constantly a big debate on this site. alot of ppl use the z06 maf and that seems to work well. Certain tuners dont like certain MAFs because they cant tune them well. For instance some tuners would prefer a descreened stock MAF as apposed to a SLP and so on. So your tuner may not wnat you to **** with it because he has not had any good results from it. Try contacting a different tuner and get his opinion. Ultimatly even if your tuner is giving you bad advise it would not do you any favors to give him a part that he does not work well with.

That's for those want to sort through rifraf. This is obviously quicker and more efiicient. Thanks though.

He was the one that recommended the ZO6 MAF. Where do you buy those at? He told me that I could find one for $50. lol Who knows?!?!

Anyways, I got advice from another member on here about how to port the TB and gave it to my buddy. He's pretty good with a dremel so I think we should be ok.

I know a lot of people have different opinions about he screen. I know it's supposed to straighten the air and people say it can cause your cars to run rough, but I've never had a problem after taking mine off. It was fun listening to the debate last weekend at the dyno with some of my GP friends. Some have screens, others didn't. lol To each their own with the screen.
