Califonia legal headers I want to put some bigger headers and a y pipe on my 1999 z28 camaro, but i want it to pass smog so i don't have to pay alot to get it smogged or keep taking them off every year. Does anyone know of headers and a y pipe that i can put on so it passes smog and sounds good. I'm also looking for somthing thats around 500-600 dollars. Thanks
Pretty much all of them have Cali smog options. All you need for smog is your A.I.R. pump fittings and EGR in your case since it's a 99. Almost all longtubes come with that option. You can get a set of Pacesetters/Catted Ypipe for around your price range.
100% correct. You will not pass a visual inspection with LT's. You should be fine with a sniffer/OBDII test though. I'm not from Cali, so I only have to deal with the PCM tests. So depending on what you think your going to encounter, decide based on that. Get some 01-02 stock manifolds. That'll pass everything... unless they get mad about the missing EGR.
