Default ARH Header Install

A friend and I have been slaving away all day working on the header install on my 2001 M6 Z28.

The AIR system is no longer!!! Finally!!

The headers slid right in with no problem, just like everyone says the ARHs do. Thanks ARH!!!

2 problems cropped up.

1st was the 2nd bolt from the rear on the driver side started to strip putting the bolt back in. So we took the header back out, and chased out the hole with a tap. Probably lost the first 3 threads or so, judging from the metal that came out with the tap. Was still able to achieve 18 ft-lb though during torqueing, so it should live fine.

2nd was trying to get the oil dip stick back in!! What a PITA it was. Took much cursing from us both, but after studying the shop manual we were able to figure it out. The dipstick is still pretty close to one of the tubes, if not rubbing, so it will have to be checked out. Has anyone experienced this problem?? If so, how did you solve it??

The only remained issue is the length of the O2 extenions provided by ARH. They are WAY too long. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how/where did you tie up the extra wiring? Or did yo order shorter extensions?

I took a video of the startup, headers only, no y-pipe, no cats. It was getting late so those will be installed later. Rear O2s and AIR system were disabled during a previous tune.

Let me know what you think!!

Thanks,
Tony

yeah they are really long, just zip tie em out of the way. the ones i orders were perfect length, and on the drivers side i just pulled the wire down from the harness and didn't need a extension.

i remember the dipstick haha, me and my dad just fished around down there and finally got it.

Sounds good, just bend the dipstick till it fits between the primaries, may take several trys.
