Happy with your FAST intake? I am really riding the fence now on going with the FAST intake and matching t/b, I have an 02 SS that is getting Livernois Stg 3 Heads and Livernois Stg 2Cam, Kooks stepped LT's, Kooks O/R Y, and new MAF. Is the intake/tb combo worth the money in your opinions? I have a goal of 450rwhp+ so I am sure that I will need the intake/tb combo anyways but please give opinions on what you all think! |
stock bottom end? i would say keep LS6 and port the stock throttle body. but if you plan to go bigger later then may as well get the 92/92 now so you dont have to buy another intake later. i run a FAST 92 ported for a 95mm Nick Williams throttle body on my 365. but i plan on an ATI D1SC later so i opted for the FAST 95 now. but if you have 1300 bux burning a hole in your pocket then go 92/92. you will make more power for sure. but it's a bitch to tune. |
pretty sure you can still get the FAST for $1100 from TSP...and sell your ls6 and tb for $300-400. i'm VERY happy with my FAST. all my gains were on stock heads, which really make me wonder what it would have done on good heads. mind you this was a home ported intake, just what i could reach with a dremel...did not seperate the intake my gains: - 18hp, 12ftlbs peak - 5-10hp and ftlbs from 3000rpm and up...NO LOSS in the bottom end - moved peak torque LOWER in the rpm band by 500rpm - hp still peaked at 6300rpm thread in the dyno section the only downside i can come up with was that now it has a wierd hollow, sucking sound to it. sounds like a vacuum leak, but its not. i hear its normal with the material used on the intake, and the bigger plenum vol of the intake. |

i dont see why you WOULDN'T see 450rhp.....assuming your boltons are up to snuff and the car runs good. and as the thread stated....my gains were same day, same dyno, tuned before and after. as apples to apples as you can get. |
i cant post any real numbers but on my lid/catback car feels my car picked up all over from my 92mm w/ fast 92mm tb. |

its all about breathing and efficiency more is better...the intake only adds to that. |

well if you do go for the FAST then upgrading your injectors and fuel system is highly recommended. you dont wanna go lean and eat those nice heads up. i went with Racetronix 42 lbers and a Racetronix fuel system upgrade with Walbro 255. good luck with your build. |
Very happy with mine as i've stated many times |
I love mine too. I gained 21rwhp on my engine, and I just pulled out my cam and realized the stock cam that came in the engine was the stock cam it was supposed to be. Ive been running a 196/200 @ .050 .469/.479 lift cam, I didn't even know they made a cam with under .500 lift on LS engines?!?!?! Anyways, despite my engines short comings, stock intake, stock exhaust manifolds, and puny cam, the FAST intake really made a huge power gains for me. Again, my dyno graph is done on the dame dyno, same day, same hour, same tune, same 90mm DBW throttle body. I literally just swapped the intake and ran it again so there is no dyno BS! http://inlinethumb03.webshots.com/44...600x600Q85.jpg

agreed on the injectors. i'm still running my stockers...althought hey ARE pretty much maxed out. when i put the heads on (someday) i've got a set of 42# green tops waiting. |
Very Happy with mine.:D Set up and dyno results in sig. |
You can get the FAST 92 NEW for much less than 1100! If you call fast themselves they sat like 925 and if you look around like I did there are shops selling it for 830 shipped. Good luck with your decision! |

Okay, stupid question alert. How do you measure how much of a fuel injector's capacity is being used? And like others said, I know for a fact you can get them for way under $1100.... |
Yeah you can get just the INTAKE for under 1100...but try intake and throttle for under 1100. |
