Initial Impressions of Borla XR1 Oval Just got back from the first drive with the Borla Sportsman XR1 Offset Oval muffler installed. This muffler has a 4 inch diameter inlet and outlet, but I used 3 to 4 inch adapters. Eventually I plan to have a full 4 inch system. The muffler is 14 inches long and 8 inches wide
Anyway, this muffler is great! At idle and part throttle it sounds almost stock, but when you put your foot in it, makes that loud as hell NASCAR sound! For a while I was running a Loud Mouth with headers and no cats, and got the NASCAR sound 100% of the time! These Borla XR1 Ovals have to one of the best kept secrets out there . . . worth every penny of it's high price. They are a straight through design so there is little back presure, yet they do a good job of quieting and de-rasping a catless system. Oh yeah and the drone is gone also
