Default Ported TB or ASP Pulleys?

Both mods seem to be effective but I'm on a tight budget and can't buy everything at once. As far as hp/$, what is better?

If I go with the TB, which one should I get?
If I go with an alternator pulley, where should I get it and will it work ok with my amp and subwoofers?

Any thoughts on the decision would be appreciated.

If you go with a TB, buy a bauer.

If you go with an ASP pulley, all you need is a crank pulley.

Both should net around the same RWHP

Okay, I'll look into the home port job. Where should I get the crank pulley?

Not worth it in my opinion... and it will be more of a strain on the charging system..

Pulley, too, IMO. It's consistently yielded similiar results whereas a ported TB won't give the same gains on every car. Pulleys are more consistent. Also, if your car's an A4, look into the overdrive alternator pulley and if it's an M6 don't worry too much about the radio stuff causing a problem.

Eastside performance does a good job on throttlebodies.

tbyrne has this new insert for the throttle body, its cheaper and from what i have heard close to the same HP gains, everyone i talk to is disappointed with their ported TB's because they didnt get much gains out of it.

Do the alt underdrive pulley as well if you have a M6 and are willing to set the idle speed to 950 rpm. Otherwise, you may find yourself with a dead battery often.

The pulleys wil give you a noticeable increase at all rpms, whereas the ported throttle body is more for top-end gain.

im not really understanding this, if the alt pulley is smaller so that the alt will turn at the same speed as stock, then how will this play any kind of roll in killing the battery?

I don't understand what difference it makes if it is an auto or manual as long as you have a raised idle. I run both underdrive pulleys, idle at 850, and have no charging problems and I've never had a dead battery.

Ditto...

The ASP pulley yields consistant gains. The TB shines when you have a lot of breathing mods... (headers, intake, cam, heads, etc...)

The guy who only gained a few hp from his pulley and ORP could probably have used a tune after he removed his cats, don't let that sway you.
