exhaust tips on 2002 z28

is it illegal to cut them off down to the round pipe under bumper.

Illegal, no but I would cut them back far enough to run turndowns so you don't get **** on the rear valance.

actually i think any modification from stock on exhaust is illegal in most places. its like a generalized law they put in place just to **** you over. **** em.
