Only because you will want to beat on it
its really not that bad man. Its also prolly the best mod you can do for an a4. And trust me you will want a bigger one after you buy.

I had a 3800 vig in my 2000 full bolt on car and in town only got around 11 mpg. Once it was in lockout it was no different from stock. The bigger you go you will see more gains in et, but also harder on trans! might as well plan on drag radials too!

a fuddle 3800 with 4.10's.
Lots of people will hate on fuddle for good reason. They put out some JUNK. The early ones(like mine) work pretty decent. Mines very loose. I cant believe how low some peoples are. Big gears like mine help a lot in town tho. I prolly only get like 24 mpg.

Your only going to see gains in the 1/4 if you get the car to hook. Your car will proabably run slower if you install the convertor and don't address the traction problems.

i wouldnt hesitate to put a 3800-4000 stall in there. i had a 3500 and always wished it was bigger. when i would ride in peoples cars who had 4000+ stalls i couldnt tell a deference in DDing. but they would always out 60ft me. go big or go home dude.
