Red face Throttle Body Blade - How to fill the hole...

Hey guys... I gotta figure out some way to either fill the hole on my throttle body blade, or get a new blade without the hole in it.

some guys have suggested JB Weld etc... I'm just not too thrilled about putting something "hard" in there in case it were to ever come off and go into my engine...

I know I can't be the first to need to do something like this. Any ideas?

No way I would JB it... Have someone weld it shut if need be... but why does it need to be closed? Did someone drill a huge one or what?...

Like the post above says,Was it drilled out? That hole is there for a reason. Why do you want to fill it? You can have the hole welded.I have had a hole someone drilled on one my bbk tb welded up before.

yea... the hole was drilled too large, and after the tune has been modified, the hole is no longer needed.... with the hole in there, as is, it idles at like 2000

for the time being i've put a piece of gorilla tape over it and it's doing fine. But I don't wanna drive it too much like that, as one piece almost got sucked in already because of the heat... so until i can fix it correctly it's gonna stay parked for a bit...

You could try solder. It's not as very hard so if it did come loose it wouldn't be as bad as a piece of jb weld or something.

thats an alternative. dont let the guy welding it go crazy bc heat WILL distort the blade. Solder on the other hand wont distort it.

I had drilled out my TB blade a bit, but the tuner adjusted for it and my car idles fine at 750rpm.

well i spent roughly 1400 on my TSP ported 92mm with a PTM 95mm TB. why dont you just rivet a plate over the hole and drill a new one in that plate? you can secure it rather easily and if you buck them correctly it should last forever. it may create a small bit of turbulence but who cares, at least it will idle.
