I broke the Oil Pressure sending unit when attempting to swap intakes.
Installed a new sending unit been running it for a week, noticed this week that my oil pressure gauge is actin up.
When I cold start her, it'll go all the way past 80 and basically "max" itself out. After a few minutes it will come back down to whatever the 1/2 mark is and stay around that in idle. At WOT if gets almost to 80...
It would always dance in between the 1/2 and 3/4 mark (40-60) and the only oil thing that's been messed with is the sending unit.

maybe the old sending unit wasnt as accurate do to its age/wear and tear. Oil pressure should be high on cold start cuz the oil is cooler and thicker, pressure calms down when oil gets hotter and thinner. it should be that high on WOT. the pcm sees WOT and closes the oil pressure relief valve to give the motor more than enough.
Sounds to me like now your seeing the true pressure #s
