Merge collector & cutout question
Hi,
I'm gathering parts for my exhaust install.
I have already installed a GMMG catback, and have LT headers with a 3" outlets ready to go on.
I plan to have a custom y pipe made up.
I have 3" magnaflow cats (x2), and would like to get a electric cutout, and still need to buy a merge collector.
Am I right in thinking I need to get a merge collector with 3" inlets, and a 4" outlet into the I pipe?
This would mean I need to get a 4" cutout.
But then I would need to reduce the I pipe after the cutout to go into my GMMG which is 3", is this reduction a bad idea?
Thanks for you help.............

Get the flowmaster dual 3" into single 3.5" merge. It will be easy for the shop that fabs your y-pipe to reduce it down to 3" for your GMMG. You will be fine with this reduction, especially if you're planning on a cutout too.

Great, thanks for the help Mike.
I'll pick up a 3.5" e cutout then.
I'm not after every single hp, but it just seemed strange to me that two 3" pipes end up going into one 3" pipe, and that might of caused a restriction.
Thanks again for the advise,
Paul.

U ought to just get the 3" E-cutout, thats what I did. The exhaust shop can reduce the 3.5" end of the merge down to 3" to weld up to your 3" I-pipe.
