+Quick question: say i do get the Z28 can i keep the engine stock and slap on a vortech (or any other S/C) and just do the exhaust and if so how much will the stock internals handle? any rwhp guesses are welcome also

You should be fine at 500-550 rwhp with a good tune.

looks like an idiot had the ws6 judging by all that nonsense in the engine bay, so that one is out.

the ss is was too overpriced, dealers love to think SOM is godsend color that people will pay anything for, so that one is out.

my vote is for the z28, low miles, cheap price. if you don't like the gfx thats even better, you will be able to sell them for a hefty amount... i should just the fronts on ebay (in pewter actually too) for $350.

what would be a relatively cheap (under $3k) and effective Heads and cam Set-up (keep in mind the Z28 will be a DD) and were do i find parts for these cars, i been trying on summitracing but i would like more.

If you buy the car and need/want parts, your answer is---->, the sponsor list should be on the right of the screen. And as far as a heads/cam DD car, some people will tell you that you can DD a huge cam such as an MS4, some will tell you to stay at the 228 range. It really depends. If you want to see some options of cams and heads, check texas speed or give them a call. They have a ton of options and will help you figure out the best route for you. Everyone is different, so if you get the car and want to do heads/cam remember to figure in expenses for other things..oil pump, valve springs, pushrods, intake, exhaust, tune...

well i looked around on the TSP site (great site btw) and im interested in the Precison Race Components Stg 2.5 5.3L Heads & Cam package with the Texas speed magic 3 Cam, and the rollmaster single roller non adjustable Timing Chain. standard 7.400" pushrod length and no oil pump (if i need one let me know) all for $1,706.98. now what will this package do paired with slp lid, k&n filter, pacesetters lt's and hooker super comp catback? what will all that put me as far as hp. and can i keep the stock mid pipe, and stall?

You will need an oil pump when doing a cam swap. That is a damn good set up you have listed though. You will also need a new intake (ls6 or fast) and a tune.

^^^ alright oil pump will have to be added to the mix. and what years have the ls6 intake is it 99+ if so the Z im looking at is a 2000 i think

2000 cars did not have the ls6 intake so add that to your list. i think the later half of 01 and all the 02's came with it though

awesome im actually looking at a complete list!!! okay so with the ls6 intake added and the oil pump + the set up mentioned in post #33 what would i be looking at? as far a rwhp and possibly 1/4 times (for an auto with stock stall and gears)

oh and what do you guys think about this (the interior is kinda meh)
