A/C Trouble

Recently my Air Conditioner pump locked up, as in the pulley wont turn at all. I bought a used one and installed it. I then went to midas to get the system vacuumed out and charged. The dude says I must have blockage from the other pump locking up and recommends I buy a "accumulator" and a "expansion block".

Though, comments, advice, bashing.

Lets hear it.

If your pervious pump was damaged it would be your safe bet to have things replaced. You don't want things from your old pump ending up ruining your new pump.

he didnt say replace the orifice tube? I'm pretty sure we have orifice tubes on these cars. In the hose up top on the passenger side behind the accumulator.

our cars don't have a expansion blocks, we have orifice tubes. i would pull the orifice tube and inspect for debris. did you put oil in the new/used compressor?

for the record they suggest an accumulator and orifice tube EVERY TIME the pump is changed, makes sense if the pump failed and blew **** all through the system, but otherwise...

and if they vacuumed and recharged they should have put oil in it.
