Bringing back from the dead.......

I decided to keep my mufflex and did install a 2.5" cut out just before the muffler since I had the time. A 2.5" cutout should easily be able to handle any extra exhaust that the 4" flowmaster can't handle. SHould be no need for a 4" cutout. I grafted a 2.5" right to the side of the 4" just before the muffler.

Took it to speed inc for a dyno tune and here are the numbers

Corked 476 rwhp/424.7 rwtq
Uncorked 483 rwhp/431 rwtq

So, I picked up 7 rwhp and 6 rqtq. Based off of that, I would say that the single 4" flowmaster flows pretty dam good considering how much I am making at the tires. I think I will be keeping my flowmaster! It just sounds badass

I'd look at these two mufflers, if you ever decide you want your 7 rwhp and 6 rqtq back and want a milder tone.
Q T P # 12400($129), high flow, and not to loud.
MagnaFlow #14153($143), high flow, and not to loud.

I thought about the magnaflow, but I've always got so many complements on the way it sounds now and I like it as well. Need to hear one on car up close one of these days and see if I would like it.

if true duals fit with mufflers that I liked how they sounded, I would love to go true duals. Had multiple setups on my 06 GTO before I got a combo I liked. Ended up with flowmaster super 40's with an H and two 12" bullets infront of them. When I had an X, it sounded like an exotic car. My buddies GTO with the H and magnaflows sounded way better than when I had magnaflows on my GTO with the X. the true dual kit out there now for a grand just looks like it would be loud as hell with those little straight through mufflers and no cats with long tubes.
