pulley install question

pulley install question well i was reading the latest gmhtp magazine and it said for doing pulleys you needs an installer tool so its ligned up so it wouldnt cause it to be off center and also so it wouldnt go in too far, can anyone explain??

Well, you don't absolutely have to have an install tool, but it makes it easier. I use a threaded rod piece with a nut and washers to get the pulley started. I've never had a problem with my pulley going on too far.

i didnt use one and had no problems removing my old pulley. i just bought the 30 dollar pulley puller removal and followed the instructions on jmx's website when doing my cam install.
