Default Header tube diameter

Hi,

Have an LS6...mostly stock...getting ready to buy headers (almost $900). I see 1-3/4. 1-7/8 and 2 inch diameter. Can I buy 2 inchers now and add speed parts over time to realize full potential or am I just kidding myself that any 347 CI engine would ever need that much flow? THX

Use the 1-7/8's if your going to put some SERIOUS motor work on it and turn it 7000+ RPM's.

Otherwise just use the 1-3/4's.

I agree. I would go 1-7/8's since your prob not goin to keep it bone stock. But if you dont plan on doing much to the engine go with 1-3/4's.

No bigger than 1-7/8 unless your planning like 900hp

Agreed Tom....my big HP days are gone...I think...

I was making 1100 with a BDS blown 540 BBC and a Lenco....way too much maintenance and $$$. My present project is about fun, not having the fastest car in the area...the reality there is always someone faster who is willing to put more and more effort and money in their ride.

I'd like to have 500ish dependable HP in my Pro Street 69 Camaro...and just enjoy it for a change...
