Default Header Panic

I am in frustration mode, I just finished bolting up my edelbrock shorties, and a started it up and it pulsated for a while then stalled out... with an ses light blinking. what looked like exhaust started bellowing from the engine after it stopped looked around and the cats needed a little tightening up, I am waiting for it to cool down a little before I tighten them back up....How tight do I tighten the catalytic converter to the exhaust header? Do I really wrench it down? Can I clear the code myself by unplugging the battery, how long do I have to wait? what can I do it it continues to leak. Please somebody help...

2000 z28 stayed after unplugging and leaving it, it will stay until I give it a little throttle, then it will die. then on second start it stays running.

Are you still running AIR & EGR? Did you swap the headers with the spark plugs still in?

I agree. Change your plugs and see if that works, if not let us know.
