Default another td thread

i'm gettin ready to make my td's here in the next few days so i had a few questions. right now i just have lt headers (pacesetter ceramics)and i'm going to dump it for now. i'll go over the axle in a few weeks probably.

i have heard a lot of set ups and i cant find anything better than the sweet thunder system. for those of you that have them...are they loud or LOUD!!! i'm lookin for a system with some volume but i don't need to catch absolutely everyone's attention. also where can i find just the mufflers? summit doesn't seem to have them.

I think you buy them directly from ST. I have them with the TSP TD kit. Cruising around in lower rpms it is actually pretty tame and wouldnt attract unfriendly attention (cops). When you get into it the car screams! Everyone who has heard it loves the sound.

on Ls1sounds under True Duals the 00' SS near the bottom with Sweet Thunders listed is pretty damn close to how mine sounds. The idle clip he has posted makes it sound weak... its not like that at all though.

You really cant go wrong with ST.

oh ok. thanks a lot man. i found their site. I've heard a few set ups and to me it sounds like open long tubes but tamed and quieter which is exactly what im lookin for. also isn't it true that the longer the muffler the quieter it'll be for these bullet style mufflers?

Yeah I imagine the longer the muffler the quieter it would be. But it is a chambered muffler.

yup the longer the muffler the more it changes the sound...check out powersticks. thats what I went with after seeing the difference in the inside of the muffler...all those pieces inside cant be good for flow and powersticks has true 3" id if your going w/ 3" duals

My sweet thunders are loud but not LOUD. I got the 18" ones i believe. I love the sound of them but i also love powersticks. After i do my cam swap depending on how i like the sweet thunders i may switch to powersticks.

well is see a lot of the talk about the power sticks. i've seen them before. i understand it's a better muffler. is it louder than the st's though? i'm also lookin at some kinda spiral flow. I like the design and the sound seems pretty good as well on those. if anyone has suggestions then throw em out...i need to order some tonight!!

power sticks are prolly a lil louder then the sweet thunders. I also thought about going with spiral flows but heard too much about people on here getting tickets for them. If you dont drive the car everyday i say go with spiral flows. If you do go with powersticks or sweet thunders. My votes for sweet thunders tho!
