Open Borla vs. Cutout; Same Diff?

Default Open Borla vs. Cutout; Same Diff?

After dynoing my LS1, I wanted to get my numbers up a bit (10HP) and wondered if it does any good to do a cutout when I'm running my Borla wide open.

Same concept right? I did notice though that exhaust poured out of the muffler side too at WOT on the dyno, even with no plates on the Borla. This made me think that a cutout (in the I Pipe) would free me up some.

Am I making sense? Lemme know!

I think the I pipe location works best also. It avoids the over-the-axle bends.

That, and running it through the Borla muffler on the driver's side....oh..howdy neighbor! Whaddya think of my Florida dyno numbers? I figured if I switch out to longtubes after the MACS rust away and slap on a ported TB I should free up more HP.

Excellent figures. Especially thru the Macs.
Congrats! Take that puppy to Moroso already. The weather's great. I got a 12.1 sec run (with room for improvement... 11.99x here I come) in the other night.

I doubt there would be more than 1-2 HP difference but theoretically the cuttout should be better.

Thanks Colonel. Now I wonder if the cost-benefit (+NOISE) ratio would be worth it. South FL, I plan to hook up with you at Moroslow! But my stock tires are bald and I need Nittos. I can afford that, but not a new rear end anytime soon, so I'm a little skeered!

Hmm. No 12 bolt or 9".... problem. I'd keep street tires on there for now and stay far, far away from Moroso.

I'm runnin' Nittos on 4.10 & 10 bolt. Crossed my fingers on every launch (nothing passed 3000rpms) last Friday.
