Header/Y Packages

Header/Y Packages What do you guys run in terms of headers and Y-pipes. HOw much did the set up cost all said and done (gaskets, O2, Extensions, TUNE, etc)? Where did you buy from to get that deal. Just trying to get a feel for the true cost of ownership (haha) for headers. Thanks alot. -Justin
Lets see mines was:
$500 Used Kooks coated with air and EGR from here Very good shape
$370 Kooks off road Y-pipe which I traded with local for Kooks Catted Y
$500 For Install and tune
Total-$1070
The header came with stock and kooks bolts and the catted Y I traded for came with clamps. All my stuff was used so I really can't help you. But with everything new and installed at my price. I would be over $2,000 with the kooks catted Y cause it's like 550 or 600.

it just really depends on what brand you are buying. personally, i dont plan on keeping my current car for more than a year or two, so i went the cheap way out....pacesetters to the speed inc duals kit (the one you assemble yourself). just over $500 so far and itll be close to 1000 after a tune and some other crap. my friend just went hooker headers and Y into the magnaflow he already has and hes spending right about what i am.

$300 QTP ORY
$30 Percy's Header Gaskets
$30 O2 extensions
$64 NGK TR55 plugs
$40 MSD wires
$24 EGR plug, Antiseize, Dialectric grease
Yep, I think that's everything. So about $1088. Installed it myself and havnt got a tune yet.

i just bought the pacesetter package from Texas Speed about a month ago, comes with just about everything you need for less than 600 bucks. i bought new gm gaskets and they were like 25 bucks.

Verdad Gallardo ^ I've been reading that you don't have to have the 1 7/8 are useless or no different than 1 3/4 on a stock motor. But they were saying that if you was going to any bigger cubic inches motor then 1 7/8 would be the way to go. That's what I've been reading.

Yes, thats the generally accepted truth. Many manufacturers maintain that their 1-3/4 are good to the 600 hp range. Believe what you'd like.
