From what i've read the pulsation issue happens around 6 times out of 10 for all ls1 owners. It happened to my hawk and i just replaced it with a brand new Cardone alternator and the pulsation completely halted. If i were you i'd drop the stock shitpile and go new so you dont have that problem again.

Hopefully I do not have the issue anymore with the rebuilt one. Tried a remanufactured one once but the main power post was screwed up. talking to the place that rebuilt mine and they said a lot of places that remanufacture them use cheap stuff from china. My place only uses made in USA stuff.

13.5 amps sounds plenty to me.. does the car start easily? What symptoms are you having? All I see you saying is that the amps drop when the 2nd fan kicks on which is normal because there's more draw, what else?

i just for go the underpowered stock alt and go get a used tahoe or escalade 120amp alt and never have to worry about it again. forgot the part code for it but i believe its a 2004 tahoe alternator that fits right in there with no modification. i had the same problem and when i did my K-member swap, i put it in there since i had to take it out anyway. Theres a writeup if not a sticky on it somewhere around here.
trust me, this route is way cheaper then going ot the parts store and getting an expensive underpowered alt when you can get a GM stock higherpowered Alt for cheap.

missed the post up top.
K3G is the part number.
