Default best cam for a daily?

What would a good cam be for a daily driven, A4 car with 107,000 miles on it?The car was never beat on and it is completely stock.

are there any other supporting mods i would have to look out for on the LS1 other than the usual springs and retainers? what about push rods? thanks for the answers in advance.

if its stock right now then u need a lid, longtubes, ory or catted y,catback,at least a 3000 stall then go for the cam,ls6 oil pump, new timing chain, and dyno tune when your done. just my 2 cents worth but getting a cam before all the above listed mods is putting the cart before the horse so to speak.

My z06 has the TR224 (the 114 LSA version) only...

No long tubes, stock exhaust with cats, stock intake with k&n filter

With this cam my average mpg improved by 3

uhh, why would I need a 300 stall on a daily? I think you missed my point.

i want a little more powers out of it since it is my daily driver, hence a MILD cam is what I would want.

Look into the small Comp Cam thumper cams. They're pretty small lift/duration but have a good chop to the idle

you're going to get a million different answers to this as some people can tolerate different things when you say "daily". some may like a barely streetable car as a daily, and some may like a stock-sounding well mannered cam.

Then may I suggest something along the lines of the 224R cam? That sounds like as extreme a cam as you would want for a daily. Check it out here:

I have a comp xr265hr in my wife's GTO. Very mild cam- 212/218 with a 114 lsa, but with the way it's tuned, it sounds like a bigger cam. Mods in the sig, and made 382whp. She loves it, and if she can learn how to drive a manual on it, it's pretty streetable.
