Default Inside Diameter of 1 3/4 headers?

im asking this because im in the middle of porting my heads and i dont have the headers yet they should be here sometime at the end of the week but i need the heads done by wednesday to get them to the machine shop so i was just wondering if the inside diameter of the header was actually 1 3/4 or is it a little bigger i used a mic and the gasket is 1.816 inches so i just want to make sure the header is aither a little bigger or the same size

thanks

The gasket is probably a bit bigger than the actual diameter of the primaries. If the inside diameter is not 1 3/4" then its going to be damn close to that. Again im not sure on either but I do believe I am right here, hope this helps.

Inside diameter should be 1-3/4". Thats where they come up the that measurment.

You want the gasket a little bigger than the primary so the exhaust doesnt burn the gasket away from covering the exhaust port...its perfectly normal.

All exhaust tubing is measured on the outside diameter. So the inside diameter of the header also depends on how thick the material each header manufacturer uses. Most use .049 or .065 thick steel. So it would be 1.652" or 1.62". Hope this helps.

Agreed, every header I've measured (Kooks, Pacesetter, ARH, etc) are all measured OD.
