Need help with air/fuel!
Ok I searched for a hot second but couldn't find what I was looking for so.... here we go....
I ported my MAF and descreened it, installed it, then the SES light came on. Took it to my mechanic and he said it was because I did this that the ECU didn't know how to react to it was going crazy and running real lean. So I then purchased the 85mm SLP MAF (along with the smooth bellow and lid) because he said this would fix the problem....and it did for awhile.
3 weeks or so later now my SES light is on again and it is running real lean again. On some cold starts it will sputter and almost stall and has stalled once. Any one have this problem or know what I should do?! I'm guessing that maybe I need a tune? or new fuel injectors? or what?!

Maybe there is another issue and the MAFs just made it more pronounced.
If you can get the code it would be much easier to find a solution. Sometimes mechanics say things that are based more on opinion than fact.
The only code that specifically says lean is usually caused by a bad or over oiled MAF or a vacuum leak after the MAF.

Well this mechanic is a family friend and a gear-head none the less.... I changed the molested stock MAF to SLP and it was good untill like 2 days ago so you might be right with the whole another issue.... racing usually does that lol well I will take it in on Monday and see I guess....I'm guessing upgraded injectors cuz I upgraded everything on the air side...it would make sense....
