Default Headers/Catted Y/Magnaflow...I'm going in.

It begins. I've been kind of dreading this install, but I'm going all in today. Have a full length exhaust to install...Pacesetter LTs, TSP Catted Y, and Magnaflow cat-back. I've got the rear tires on ramps, and the front end on jackstands...it's way up in the freaking air. Looks like plenty of room underneath.

Debating where to start...stock catback out, then Y, cats, then manifolds?

Yeah, take out the catback first, then Y, then manifolds. Then install in reverse order. Sounds easy doesn't it?

i did headers with just jackstands under the k-member, but i did most of it from the top with the car on the ground. i think you need the car off the most to do the cat-back tho. good luck with the install

btw your going to love the sound of it

OK, been slacking a little today, watching a lot of college football. Have the stock cat-back out, Y pipe out, and one of the cats out. I'll go back at it after the game. Not looking forward to the exhaust manifolds...

good combo. if you look in my sig i have a link to some old videos and stuff from my setup (same as yours)

the install is pretty straight forward, id say once i had everything removed it was a total of about 3 hours to get everything done, probably even less, and going for a test drive.

Hey keep us up to date on how it goes.

I am in the process of the exact same setup. I have the headers in (after doing motor mounts). I already had the magnaflow catback on but ran into what I thought were problems with getting the Y-pipe to fit with the cat back on. So I took the cat-back apart and now have the Y-pipe and cat back on the floor (had to watch football this afternoon).

Please let us know if everything fit ok. I plan on going back under tomorrow night to mess with it again..

I had to cut a good 6"+ off of the i-pipe on my Magnaflow CB to get it to fit. Is that the fitment issue you're having?

I believe it is. I have some people telling me that everything fit for them and some that had to cut the I-pipe to make it fit.

I have a gut feeling I will need to cut it.

So did you take it out of the middle of the I-pipe?

Thanks

Don

yeah i had to cut about 6" off mine as well. im sure thats because it will fit perfect with stock stuff, have to make it fit with aftermarket.

just take it off the end that will be connecting to the ypipe

Damn, I hated to read all that...I was hoping the magnaflow was going to slide right on to the TSP Catted Y. I got all the old stuff out and the headers are in, but that's as far as I got today. Everything went in fairly well...had to cut the casting tab off the block there on the drivers side, and then that farthest back bolt on the drivers side was a real pain in the ***. Passenger side went right in, no problem.

Hopefully, the Y and the catback will be going on tomorrow after work, along with all the finishing stuff. Planning for fire in the hole tomorrow night, if all goes well.

Well I had my Magnaflow connect to my stock exhaust. I was hoping that everything would line up fine.

I didn't have to do anything to connect to the stock exhaust. Everything fit fine.

Now I need to get back under there and spend some more time.

If I do have to cut it, I don't want to take it of the end connecting to the I-pipe since both the I-pipe and Y-pipe are reduced down to slip together. If I cut it there, than the I-pipe will be to big to slip over the i-pipe end.

Keep us up to date -Q-

Thanks

Don

Its best to put the Y together FIRST and get some help to slide it onto the headers.

Get a couple extra jackstands around for even more help holding it up while you wrestle the 1/8" too small clamps they give you into place.

Magnaflow and LT's with cats sounds good. I have mine with Kook's. Nice and loud when opened up.
