dont know whats wrong???? Hey guys I have a few questions that i need answering. I have an 01' auto WS6 with ebelbrock headers with a custom y pipe and a flowmaster and to tell you the truth i am really disappointed in the why it sounds .ITS NOT LOUD AT ALL!!!!! is it the flowmaster or my custom y pipe. when i say custom y pipe i mean that when they installed my headers i bought a y 3" pipe for it and it didnt really align with the headers so from my cats is actually a 2" and it gets bigger to 2.5 and then it goes to my 3" y pipe if that makes sense. its a weird set up but to tell you the truth it has made a difference in HP but its not loud i really want to show off beast but i cant if i cant make it roar you know. do you think that magnaflow would be louder than the flowmaster?

get a set of longtubes with a off road ypipe (ory). that will make it a little deeper and if you want it to be loud install a cutout into the i pipe of your flowmaster. i have pacesetter lt's with the tsp ory into a flowmaster catback with a DMH electric cutout. sounds amazing and i love it. its loud and deep with the cutout open.

get rid of the flowmaster c/b. it is robbing you of power. get some LTs, and ory and a good quality c/b. Then money permitting get yourself an e-cuout. you could gain as much as ~15 rwhp with this kind of set up

I have shortie headers my cars way to low for me to have LT's and the i barely have enough clearance with the 3' y pipe. see the thing is that it is very quiet at an idle and when you take off its loud but not what im expecting it to be. also when i take off the whole car vibrates where the y pipe is, is it suppose to do that? another thing is there a difference between the y pipe that i already have and the ORY? or could it also be that, after my 3" Y pipe the pipe that connects to the muffler is just a little smaller if i remember correct i think the pipe size is 2 3/4 or maybe smaller, maybe that causing some restrictions or something.

you dont need a new catback unless you really want an extra 5 horses for like 500 bucks. your ypipe should not rattle that much and check and see if you have cats between your shorties and they y. an ory has no cats. with no cats the car will get louder and have a little rasp

yeah i do have cats between my headers and y pipe. and it really rattles when you take off. so what can i do to make it louder without taking off the cats, and without cutouts (i am thinking about getting cutouts but i want to see how loud i can get it before i get them)

Dude if your just trying to do this on a budget just take to muffler shop & have them fix
