Exclamation Car jumps when shifting!!!

So i recently bought an A4 99 trans am and it came with mac mids and y-pipe, shift kit, and 3.42 gears. The problem is that when im driving it it shifts real hard from 1-2 and 2-3. I feel as if the car jumps and something hits underneath the car. (Im thinking y-pipe?)
The car had the tranny rebuilt about a year and a half ago. A friend told me it might be the tranny mounts. Can anyone help me out with this very annoying problem?

Might be the torque arm bushing is loose...

Have you looked under it to see whats shiny and rubbing on the shift.

It might be exhaust, but i dont think so.

is this a high mileage car? i had a realy hard 1-2 shift with 100k on the odometer. i put some subframe connectors on and it really lightened it up. i guess the hard shifting was due to the sagging of the high mileage suspension.

My car didn't jump during shifts when my trans mount was bad. It kind of does a little on the 1 - 2 shift but has nothing to do with the trans mount. Plus I have solid motor mounts so nothing in the drivetrian is moving. When my mount meant I would get wheel hoppish feeling crap when turning sharp with moderate throttle. You could hear a little knocking sound too. My guess would be shitty worn out shocks and look into the T/A mount. Also my mount went at about 50k miles.

It is, it has 115k with all original stock suspension.

GM one, or you can buy my energy suspension poly one for like 15 bucks shipped. I didn't care for it and went back to a GM rubber mount. I think a new GM mount was somewhere are $70 or so maybe more. Before you drop the money get under there with a pry bar and try and move the trans. side to side.

go with a poly mount, theres NO reason to replace it with a stock rubber when you have a shift kit, especially if you wind up doing a stall

your just going to break those crappy rubber ones.

the poly one will give it a little more vibration, but we own muscle cars, thats what its all about.

Im running solid motor mounts, poly trans mount, trans go shift kit, and yank 4000. LOVE IT

Dude just get a rubber mount. If you keep breaking stockers then the problem lies with your motor mounts being blown out putting more stress on the trans mount to keep everything mounted to the car. Think about it. Oh and FYI I hated my poly trans mount. I have solid motor mounts and when I put them in I put the poly trans mount in as well. As soon as I lowered my car and started it I was like WTF did I do to my poor car. The amount of vibes and rattleing made me want to jack the car up on the spot and tear the new Solid M/M's back out. I then replaced the trans mount with a rubber stocker and the car is damn near stock feeling in the vibe dept.
