question on poly mounts
Iv looked but didnt find what i needed.....
on the poly mount, the insert is off-set to one side. my question is..what side (front or back) do they sit in the clam shell? When i got them off the member on here they were aranged the same on both sides. Seems like the motor would want to sit in the k-member crooked. AKA the insert on one side is more foward and on the opposite side more backwards. How should they go??

you can't flip them around unless you cut the tabs off
I'll go look at mine right quick...
EDIT:
It looks like the short side was leading. It's tough for me to see though and I can't really put my car in the air right now. Maybe some else can chime in...

If you put them on, as they are in the pictures, one side will have the short forward and one side will have the long forward. You would have to flip the mount over in the clam shell to get the same side forward and means the tabs would be on the bottom (that is a no no).
I edited my previous post as well.

i played with them for a while seein how they fit etc. I know they are the right shells, they fit right and trust the member i bought them off of on here, took them right off his car. Just think the inserts were put in wrong. Im assuming they should be symetricial from one side to another (talking about the inserts).

your clam shells are not side specific, but the mounts are. It looks like you have two passenger side mounts.
Edit:
To be clear, the inserts are side specific.
And now that I think about it, I don't think I paid attention to which side (long or short) was in the front when I re-assembled it. haha.

make sure u realize the mount in this pic is upside-down...
the 3 hollow rivets go up top, the two solid ones are on the bottom (before you drill them out obviously). if you already drilled em out the top of the outer shell is the wider part with the extra "wings". they are the same on both sides
and someone correct me if im wrong (seriously)... but i believe the mounts on the k-member are in line with each other, but the mounts on the block are offset since the cylinder banks are offset. thats why the inserts are offset, however interchangeable side to side.

demonpixel is correct. One side has a long side facing forward, the other has a short. I know it denies all logic but thats just how it is. You can insert the polys themselves in either clamshell and it will work.
