Default Squeals with new belt

My old belts sounded terrible so I replaced both. The squeal was gone but it sounded like my car had a supercharger on it. The whine has gone away but the squeal has come back, any suggestions?

you and me are having the same problems. I jus replaced belts and now 500 miles later i have an insane squeal as well. Some one told me to put a hose to each pulley and try to figure out where noise was coming from and I got nothing that way. The sound is just coming from the whole system it sounds like to me. What kind of belts are you running? I was told stay with ac delco when possible

Check the pulleys and also if you replaced an alternator , it may be that. I replaced my alternator and started squealing. It turned out to be that the alternator pulley was not aligned with the rest of my accessories. I ended up getting a REMY one and it fixed the squeal.

Carefully shoot just a quick spray of silicone on the inner surface of belt while it's running. If the noise goes away it's the belts. Mine don't like gates belts, put on AC Delcos and the noise went away and never returned.

Wow thanks man, I'm a little short on time. Would it be ok to leave my A/C belt off a few days until I'm able to do this?

Yea, it wont hurt the car at all IIRC. However, you wont have defrost features so it could make it dangerous if you live in a semihumid area and drive in the mornings.

It took me about an hour and a half to do all the pulleys. I couldnt get off the AC pulley because of the stupid torx screw but all the others went pretty smooth.

Talking about the pulleys??

If so, then maybe. If the bearings are completely shot, the cradle is busted into a million pieces and it just looks like crap then I wouldnt. Just get a new pulley but Im sure you will be able to repack them just fine as they usually have some grease left in them but its not near enough.
