Need to helicoil an alternator bolt One of the alternator mounting bolts pulled the threads when i screwed it into the engine. I would like to properly fix this. Luckily there is a lot of access so it shouldnt be a problem.
Can someone tell me the exact size helicoil i need and what size drill bit/tap to use with it?
I would like to get it ordered so that next time im home I can fix it quickly.

Check the size of the bolt and go to the parts store and get a coil KIT. It comes with the tap and the coil and the size of the drill. I am lucky one of my customers works for heli coil and he is a camaro GUY. So the access to master kits is endless. Master kits also have the drill bits in the kits. Hope this helps TOM
