Default please help with MAF

my stock maf sensor is bad.........
its making the car go way lean and on the hp tuners scanner it shows that its not flowing near what it is....

i borrowed another stock maf off another car and the car runs great again!

the car has k&n, ported tb, ls6 intake, LT's true duals..........
the car will have a cam by spring....... maybe heads/cam

should i just buy another stock maf or upgrade to the z06 maf?
i know there will be tuning required for that.

Also, if i did buy another stock one, would an oreilly's stock maf be good enough or would i need to go with a gm part

oreilly's reman stock is $140
what do you guys think?
please help i need to order one in the next day or 2

I don't know if this is what happen to yours or not, but I have seen allot of people over oiling the k&n causing maf failures.

Your current setup doesn't need it. Why tune it for just a MAF change. Just get it running and in the spring, when you say you want to do a cam and heads, put a bigger MAF in and tune it all then.

Id just get a used replacement for now, no need to get a new one,

There are plenty for sale.

I have a thunder racing ported one laying around, if you want to upgrade.

The Z06 one isnt worth it, you have to splice in new connectors, it just include the IAT sensor.

ok so i have a buddy that works at an auto parts store and he can get me a stock one for $116.00
or he can get me the z06 85mm for $63.00
so with the connector the total is till gonna be less than 100 bucks

with that information and i have the hp tuners program.....
would you guys still do a stock one or go the the z06?

Just put the Z06 in if you can tune it yourself, don't forget, you also need more intake parts to get the 85mm to the TB and to the duct going to the air filter.
