5.3 heads with 98 ls1 block someone help!! ok im considering this setup, i put up a wtb add for 5.3 heads and had an offer for a pair of 862's for 100 plus shipping...but after doing some research i wouldnt even know if it would be work the higher compression because i wouldnt even know what head gasket/ arp headbolts to get...someone please help!! and are the 5.3 heads from tsp the same or what casting were they originially?
You can run those heads on that block if you would like. Being they are not '98 heads you can run either the graphite or MLS gaskets from GM. ARP bolts or GM bolts will work as well. You will need to get center-bolt valve covers and coil brackets along with valve cover gaskets and you will be good to go. We have everything on the shelf!
