Not much different from the LT1's man as far as bolt ons go except for maybe LS1's like either the LS6 manifold swap/or other intake manifold brands and benefit from a ported or 80mm or bigger tb...as far as exhaust is concerned being a ex LT1 guys for years myself I opted for the SLP LM because I like loud and as far as LT's are concerned there all pretty comparable. Alot of guys run pacsetters because there cheap. Exhaust likes are subjective give LS1sounds.com a try that'll give you some ideas.

Mine was racist against anything but a FAST intake. No wonder they call cars "she". Drain your wallet.

Thanks guys. Something a little quiter is the key this time. I hear good things about magnaflow and like the tone from the videos I've watched. I don't want to do true duals again because they smell and my kids have to ride with me. I liked the gmmg but I eventually plan on headers so that's a no go. That and from the pictures I've found the magnaflow quad tips look pretty bad *** on a T/A. Also, I was dead set on a hurst billet plus but just today drove a friends with a pro 5.0, lou's short stick, and slp ****.....I fell in love. So, a lid, filter, shifter, and catback, sounds good to me guys. Its a good start, and maybe this summer I'll do the ls6 intake. Just wanted to get some good ideas for the stuff to watch out for and the bang for the buck stuff. I really appreciate it guys and also, since it will be a few months before the track opens, what kind of 1000 ft (no 1/4 track here) times can I expect with it and those simple mods. My LT1 ran 11.03@96mph in 1000ft with the mods in current sig. Also, it does flood a lot here. We got 84 inches of rain last year (2009), lol. Thanks a lot guys. Any other thoughts?

W/ the bolt ons (lid/exhaust/intake) and a set of DRs, low 10s is possible @ Centerville.

Also, suspension alone plays a GIGANTIC part. We all apparently failed to mention that. bene saying drag radials is what reminded me. Pick up a tq arm and replace that stamped metal one.

Really? That's sad because with my LT1 and current set up I was consistantly running 11.03-11.07@95-96mph and that was all I could get it to do with radials...

You can run pretty low right off the dealership lot with a full set of suspension goodies. The power is there, you just need to plant it somehow.

Was planning on a set of stranos or eibachs like my lt1 had and a set of bilsteins or konis to start with as far as the suspension goes. So much to do with so little cash...lol. Thanks again guys.

Honestly, I would do the suspension before i messed with anything else. You haven't bought any exhaust parts yet it doesnt sound like. Sounds like you run on the street and do some bracket racing. It would probably benefit you more than heading to the performance section first. Allthough a lid is almost too cheap to not do the second you get the car.

Well like mentioned before, the car already has a flowmaster that sounds horrible so I want to change it and put a nice shifter in it first but aside from those two things everything else I guess is a come as I get the money and I definantly agree now that you mention it. Suspension is just as important as anything else on it. I'd love to lower it and get some nice shocks. I have the bilsteins with the pro kit on the LT1 and it is nice but is really harsh on the freeway. Thanks again guys.

DON'T get eibach springs....you don't see to many guys who actually like them.

Strano or BMR springs, and Koni SA.

and if you can't afford the Koni's yet....don't do the springs yet...its just not worth it.

Definantly like the pro kit looks. Actually...I wish my car was just a bit lower. Looks would be my main concern with performance second. I get to the track maybe once or twice a year any more. Wife says I have more important things...lol. I have read a lot on the konis but never riden in a car with them. Thanks again on the heads up guys. I really appreciate it.

its just that there are MUCH better performing springs on the market these days...and they generally LOOK the same (if not better in the long run..no sag) than the eibachs.

I've never had a problem with my Eibachs..then again I've never Auto X'd it either. What problems are you guys having?

I have Eibachs and Bilsteins all around..I used to have QA1's in the back and honestly I hated them.

Its a NBM 6spd, t-top, leather car. The only modification that has been done is a flowmaster muffler which I intend to change. So...the only thing I know I will be doing is a Hurst Billet Plus shifter with the chrome handle and a black round **** and putting my TT2's from the LT1 on it. Aside from that I don't have the slightest clue what to do. I'm still unsure of what catback I want because I loved my gmmg when I had it on the LT1 but it was so loud with headers, and cam that it wasn't fun to drive any more. I couldn't hear the radio or have a conversation without raising my voice and I'm not really wanting that this time around. I was thinking about the magnaflow but never heard one on an LS1. So I'm open to any suggestions you guys have because I don't know a single person that owns an LS1 powered car (all my friends have LT1's) and aside from a catback (which I'm undecided on) and the shifter, I have no clue where to start. Also, its just a regular T/A so it doesn't have the cool hood scoops. I'd like to make it a functional ram air without changing the hood but I'm not sure if it can be done because there are no holes in the hood. Thanks in advance guys, I really appreciate your thoughts.
