What is the Safest-Shortest distance I am able to have for a Piston to Valve Clearance? I am trying to use a stock 5.7 ls1 and 317 heads they have work done not sure about how much it has been milled. I have a Trex cam
.608 .612 lift 238 242 Durat.

We generally consider head questions involving clearance internal. Safest and shortest are gonna be 2 different factors. The shortest will not be what you want if you are looking for any kind of safety net for clearance.
